Canadian Ways Camps

***Important***

Certain camps require you to register for ALL of the skates. There are some camps currently open for people to register for individual skates.
Hooked on Hockey, Get Back At It, “DRIVEN”, “DRIVEN” ELITE, BIC, Quick Feet, Shooting, Ringette and Game Days are now open for individual registration.

Camp dates are posted below and times will be added to the list soon. For now you will find the dates and times when you click on Register.

When registering please make an account so that you can view the camps that you’re enrolled in. This will help prevent you from enrolling your child in the same skate multiple times.

If you have two or more children please register them one at a time.

If the camp is no longer visible in the Registration that means that it is full.

If you would like to be put on the camp waiting list please email cdnways@shaw.ca

“DRIVEN” - Peewee AA advanced development
“DRIVEN” ELITE - Bantam AA to Pro

There is very little room at the top! What are you doing to get there?   “DRIVEN” caters to Peewee AA to Midget AAA players.  Participants are expected to have excellent skating skills, be able to carry a puck with their head up under most conditions and have a strong understanding of the game.

Participants will be working on skill sets that will enable them to gain advantages over their peers and competitors moving them closer to the elite few that can step up to the next level ready to play. Removing time, space, increasing pressure and exposing players to extremely challenging situations  will enable the “DRIVEN” to internalize important skills that are needed every shift.  Automating skill will enable players to discover, implement and expand their most untapped, important and unlimited hockey center, their mind!

Making the Best Better!

“Get Back at It”

A comprehensive list of important hockey skills will be incorporated into competitive game like situations. The sessions will include power skating, puck control, timing and positional play. While improvement and development is our main focus this camp will include many drills and mini games that will add to the fun and ensure that players look forward to the camps to come.

Skills and concepts covered include:

Balance and edges

Tight turns, crossovers, pivots…

Puck control, puck protection

Passing and receiving on forehand and back hand

Shooting, stretching the goalie

Drives, Zone entries, offensive support

Battling, bump and grind

“Hooked on Hockey”

This is the ultimate developmental program. We strive and are proud of our abilities to mend and strengthen imperfections in the players’ game that many instructors don’t notice. During the 8 sessions we carefully observe the physical and mental aspects of the players’ game so we can develop the drills to best target their needs. The drills exist for the player rather than trying to force players into drills that may be too easy or difficult. If there is a way to develop the players’ skill and confidence we will find it. The less experienced players will be working on more balance and skating but will also get a lot of time performing puck control drills for development, fun and motivation.

This program builds the players skills to where they need to be so that the athlete can be successful and confident. Numerous NHL, College, Junior and Midget AAA players have built their skill base with this program over the past 25 years.

“Quick Feet”

Any student of the game knows Quickness will always trump Speed. As players grow older speed levels out but the players that stand out have the quick feet and agility to adjust quickly in new directions to beat people to the puck and to keep it. Coaches always talk about the “first three strides”. This camp works on just that.

“Balance and Edges”

One thing is certain all your hockey sons and daughters have grown over the spring and summer. Balance and edges is a great way for them to work on finding their control, coordination and essentially their new bodies.  All the skating skills are built on balance and edge control. It’s a great early summer camp.
